Luciano Pompilio machte seinen Abschluss in klassischer Gitarre am Konservatorium „U. Giordano“ in Foggia, Italien und absolvierte ein Postgraduate-Studium in Bologna. Er gewann 15 erste Preise und erreichte die Endrunde in über 25 Gitarrenwettbewerben. Auch seine Duo-Arbeit mit Giuseppe Caputo wurde beim „Montelimar-Wettbewerb“ in Frankreich, der als der prestigeträchtigste Duo-Gitarrenwettbewerb der Welt gilt, mit einem ersten Preis ausgezeichnet. Luciano und Giuseppe waren die ersten Italiener, die diese erstaunliche Leistung vollbrachten.
Bei seiner letzten Konzertreise in Paraguay wurde Maestro Pompilio mit dem „Premio Republica“ geehrt, einer der höchsten Auszeichnungen Lateinamerikas. Luciano Pompilio hat acht CDs produziert. Seine letzte – „Tribute“ – wurde in den Top 30 der Itunes-Top-200-Veröffentlichungsliste in Kanada und Deutschland aufgeführt. Er ist künstlerischer Leiter des Internationalen Gitarrenfestivals „Città di Manfredonia“ und der Kammermusik-Konzertreihe „In Concerto“ in San Giovanni Rotondo und konzertiert in Europa, Asien und Amerika.

Luciano Pompilio graduated with honors in classical guitar at the „U. Giordano“, Conservatory of Music in Foggia, Italy. Simultaneously, Luciano achieved post graduate degrees analyzing Britten’s Nocturnal at the Humanities College in Bologna, Italy. Maestro Pompilio took 15 first prizes at guitar competition reaching the final rounds in over 25 guitar competitions.
His duo work with Maestro Giuseppe Caputo, was rewarded fist prize at the “Montelimar Competition” in France, considered the most prestigious duo guitar competition in the world. Luciano and Giuseppe were the first Italians to achieve this amazing feat. In his recent visit to Paraguay, Maestro Pompilio was awarded “Premio Republica”, one of Latin America’s most prestigious civil awards. He is considered among the best performers of the music of the legendary Paraguayan composer Agustin Pio Barrios Mangoré.
Maestro Pompilio has produced eight CDs. “Tribute”, his last CD, made the top 30 Itunes top 200 release list in both Canada and Germany. Maestro Pompilio has toured Europe, Asia and America on several occasions. He is artistic director of the“Città di Manfredonia” International Guitar Festival and the Season Chamber Music “In Concerto” in San Giovanni Rotondo.
