Sie war von 1966-2004 Professor für Cello an der Litauischen Musikakademie und hatte 45 Absolventen. 20 Jahre lang spielte sie Klaviertrio (1964-1984). Silva Sondeckiene spielte viele Solokonzerte in vielen Ländern. Von 1966 bis1995 war sie Soloceliistin im weltbekannten Litauischen Kammerorkester unter ihrem Chefdirigenten Saulius Sondeckis.
Sie hat unzählige Aufnahmen auf Tonträger und für Radio eingespielt und war Jurorin vieler internationaler Cello Wettbewerbe. Prof. Silva Sondeckiene leitet Meisterkurse in in Frankreich, Sweden, Kroatien, Russland, Portugal u.v.a.

She did her cello studies from 1966 at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Prof. Mystislaw Rostropovich and graduated in 1972 with the aspirant diploma. She was professor of cello at the Lithuanian Academy of Music from 1966-2004 and had 45 graduates. For 20 years she played Piano Trio (1964-1984).
Silva Sondeckiene played many solo concerts in many countries. From 1966 to 1995 she was a solocellist in the world-famous Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra under its chief conductor Saulius Sondeckis.
She has recorded countless recordings and radio recordings and has been a juror for many international cello competitions. Prof. Silva Sondeckiene conducts master classes in France, Sweden, Croatia, Russia, Portugal and more.
